Water Framework Directive (WFD) Assessment
Since 2000, the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC) is the main law for water protection throughout Europe. A Water Framework Directive (WFD) assessment determines the potential impacts of a proposed development, and can have up to 3 stages:
-
Screening – determines if a project requires impact assessment
-
Scoping – identifies the receptors that are potentially at risk
-
Impact assessment – assesses the potential impacts of a project, outlines site and project-specific impact avoidance and/or mitigation measures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Our specialist team of eco-geohydromorphologists and hydrologists can prepare your WFD Assessments to ensure your project success
